Lake Arrowhead

Sisto's been talking about camping and seeing owls so we did the next best thing with a 7 week old- we stayed at a cabin. Maria and Gus took us to their cabin in Lake Arrowhead. It was nice and warm and we had a great time in the outdoors. Sisto explored the lake with Nono, spotting fish and fun spots near the water.

In the middle of the night the scariest thunderstorm rolled through. Lightning struck everywhere and rain poured down in a flash. Just when we thought it had passed, one last flash hit right next to our window and jolted us from bed. Sisto jumped a good 3-4 inches in the air, asleep the entire time. The baby barely stirred but Eric and I feared for our lives. Lightning had to have struck less then a hundred get from our window. We found Roma under the bed, after searching the entire house. She knew it was coming long before we heard the thunder.

Mommy took him the next day on a trail where we met a beautiful deer, up close and personal.

Great quick getaway as we head back now to prepare for Sisto's birthday and his first day of school.

210 to the 605 to the 60 to the 10 and we're home.
